CALE PARKING SYSTEMS IS IN THE NEWS AGAIN!!!

With recent purchase orders from the cities of Boulder, CO, Walnut Creek, CA, The Downtown Toledo Parking Authority (Toledo, OH) Vancouver WA, Plymouth NH and Portsmouth, NH Cale keeps rolling along; not to mention an already established customer in the City of Manchester, NH whose city council just approved another purchase of meters for a redevelopment district in the city.

Boulder, one of Cale’s new customers, has placed an initial order of 140 of Cale’s MP104 solar powered multi-space pay and display meters. The meters will be spread across the main downtown corridor and could eventually be installed in the Hill District which is adjacent to the Univ. of Colorado. Molly Winter, the Director of Parking for the City has been a pleasure to work with as has her entire staff, most notable Donna Jobert and Doug Mayhew.

Following a relatively short RFP process, the City of Walnut Creek has decided to also partner with Cale for their entry into the multi-space parking arena. Walnut Creek is going to be using the Cale MP104 Compact meter as well but with the added feature of bill acceptance and wireless pay by space enforcement. Cale’s wireless enforcement technology is unique to Cale in that the meter has the capability to take payment for any space in the city, the meter then communicates wirelessly to the other meters and an enforcement hand held unit. The meter will also communicate credit card data in real-time. The system that will be in place in Walnut Creek is the same system that is employed in Montreal, Quebec where there are more then 1200 of these meters; easily the largest pay by space wireless enforcement installation in North America.

Toledo OH, Vancouver WA, Plymouth NH and Portsmouth NH have been or will be conducting small pilot programs for multi-space metering and have purchased their pilot program meters from Cale. The Cities and Cale are confident that with the success of the programs all of these new customer cities will largely convert to multi-space parking.

And last but certainly NOT least Cale would like to again recognize Manchester, NH. With the initial and ongoing success of their 100 meter purchase the city has found it easy to once again turn to Cale for their parking control needs. By August 15th there will be 35 more MP104 Compact meters on the streets of Manchester with an estimate of 65 more meters to be ordered before year end. CALE PARKING SYSTEMS USA STRIKES…Again & Again & Again & Again & Again…….

Last time we heard from the Cale Parking Systems USA team they were moving full steam ahead with their installation in the City of Baltimore, MD. They’ve been doing quite a lot since then and here’s how they’re fairing these days. Some of Cale’s latest customers of note are Oakland, CA. Manchester, NH. St. Pete’s Beach and Key West, FL.

The City Council of Oakland, CA just approved a purchase for 500 of Cale’s MP104 Multi-Space meter. The meter is equipped to run off of solar power, they’ll accept US coins, debit and credit cards. The first 500 meters will be installed quickly, the city is eager to get the meters installed and operational. Once the core commercial areas of Oakland are transformed from single space meters to multi-space the city will take another accounting of where they’d like the program further developed and work with Cale to replace the rest of the cities single head meters, currently totaling 7,700. Francine Larkrith-Thompson is the Parking Director in Oakland; Francine and her staff have worked tirelessly to bring multi-space metering to Oakland and Cale is proud to have her as a long-term partner.

Manchester, NH just installed the exact meter that Oakland just ordered. At the beginning of the New Year 100 of Cale’s Model MP104 were delivered and installed in the downtown core of Manchester, NH. Cale is happy to be working with Brandy Stanley, the new Parking Director and her wonderful staff.

Portland, OR isn’t a new customer to the multi-space metering world, before going with Cale they were using Parkeon. But they’re new to Cale now and they’ve made it to the mainstream by picking up this fantastic city as a Cale partner. Cale was awarded a new contract in the City of Portland for their future multi-space meters requirements.
The original installation, in Portland, for Cale was in a suburb of downtown Portland called the Lloyd District. Since this first installation and now that Cale has proved its mettle, meters are being installed in the core of downtown.

St. Pete Beach, FL. has installed 34 of Cale’s model MP104-8D wireless enforcement pay-by-space meters. All along St. Pete’s Beach access lots you will be able to pay for any space from any meter. The system allows the enforcement officers to enforce by utilizing a handheld device that communicates wirelessly with all the meters on a continuous basis. The technology for this special application is provided by an exclusive technical partner, 8D Technologies, Inc. This same system is installed in Montreal Canada, where more then 800 pay-by-space Cale MP104-8D meters are installed; with on-going installations already scheduled.

Cale would also like to publicly thank the City of Key West, FL. and Colonial Parking (Arlington office) for ordering meters.
